Brussels Sharing Songs

This event focuses on sharing songs inspired by European, American, Asian, South American, Southern African, Indigenous, and other global musical traditions. Exploring mainly genres such as rock, alternative, metal, funk, pop (meaningful), trip hop, folk, reggae, classical, electronic, indie, acoustic, ambient, tribal, world, traditional, experimental music, etc. We share reflective, soulful, and intimate music, often connected to poetry, storytelling, and cultural narratives. 1. Sharing Each participant selects a song to share with the group. They should briefly explain why they chose it, providing context such as the song’s background, the artist or band, its cultural or personal significance, and how they discovered it. Participants may also highlight aspects of the song to focus on, such as lyrics, instrumentation, or mood. 2. Playing Songs are played one at a time, in turn, using a provided Bluetooth speaker. While the song is playing, participants are encouraged to engage in a reflective, mental, and emotional experience, rather than focusing solely on discussion. This listening phase is intended as a moment for individual immersion in the music. 3. Review / Feedback After each song, participants give a brief review, focusing on the emotions, memories, or thoughts the song evokes. Each participant should speak for no more than two minutes to allow everyone to contribute. Feedback can include personal reactions, interpretations, or observations about the song. 4. Open Discussion Once all songs have been played, the group engages in an informal discussion inspired by the music. Conversations can explore topics such as music, art, emotions, personal experiences, and reflections. The goal is to create a dynamic, real-time exchange where each person actively contributes, sharing insights and enjoying a collective exploration of music and creativity.
