Privacy Notice
This notice explains what Iskra Social collects, why it is needed and the choices available to you.
- No public member directory.
- No automated application decisions.
- Optional marketing tracking stays off unless you allow it.
Who is responsible
Before applications open, this notice will name the person or entity legally responsible for Iskra Social, its service address and a working privacy contact. Those details have not been approved yet, so the service does not currently collect applications, contact messages or confidential reports.
Data we collect
The application asks for your name, email, date of birth, gender, connection to the city where you want to join events, activities and availability, plus any optional practical note you choose to add. We use your date of birth to confirm that you are at least 18, and gender to support application review and group planning. Neither is shown publicly. A profile photo and short bio are optional. For participants, the clear photo and bio are shown only to confirmed participants and hosts in the same event group. When you join an event, a small, strongly blurred version of your profile photo appears on its public card, without your name or bio. Removing your photo or cancelling your place removes that preview. If you host a public event, your clear profile photo—but not your bio—is also shown on its event listing and page so people can recognise the organiser. Hosts can choose to show their existing profile bio publicly on their host profile and add an optional Instagram link in the same profile settings. Bio visibility is off until the host chooses it. The selected bio and Instagram link are visible to anyone opening that host profile. New-event emails are optional. Account, reservation, attendance, support and safety records are created only when those features are used.
Why we use it
We use the information to assess applications, operate accounts and reservations, organise events, protect participants, answer messages and meet legal obligations. Complete applications are read by authorised people; Iskra Social does not use an automated decision to accept or decline someone.
Messages and choices
Essential emails are used to confirm your address and operate your application, account and reservations. New-event emails are optional and can be switched off. Withdrawing an optional choice does not affect earlier lawful use.
Who can access it
Access is limited to people who need the information to operate Iskra Social, investigate a concern or provide essential technical and communication services. Hosts receive only the details needed to run a confirmed event. Personal information is not sold and full reports are not automatically sent to a host.
How long we keep it
Unverified, withdrawn, declined and waitlisted applications are scheduled for deletion after 14 days. Active account data is kept while the account is open; closed account data enters a 90-day deletion schedule. Safety reports may be kept for up to 730 days, or longer when needed for a live safety or legal matter.
Your rights
Depending on the legal basis and circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to use of your data. You can also complain to Poland’s data protection authority, the UODO. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Optional advertising measurement
If you choose ‘Allow analytics’, Iskra Social uses the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to understand whether a Meta advert led to a page visit, application, activated account or confirmed event reservation. Matching data may include a securely hashed email address, phone number or account identifier, plus browser and campaign details. We do not send your date of birth, gender or application answers to Meta. Meta Platforms Ireland receives this information. You can withdraw your choice at any time through ‘Privacy choices’; the website and essential service continue to work.
Flyer statistics
If you allow analytics under the updated choice, we also measure journeys from flyer links. We store the flyer label, an opaque cookie ID, consent receipt, step timestamps and a link to your application. We do not copy your form answers into this record. The cookie lasts 30 days; the report covers 180 days, with older records cleared when measurement or reporting runs. Withdrawing stops further measurement. Existing Meta-only consent does not enable this separate report.
Browser storage and security
The service uses essential browser storage, secure pages and one-time codes to keep sessions and unfinished form answers working. Reasonable access controls and encrypted connections reduce risk, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Sign-up statistics
With the updated analytics permission, we record which form steps you reach, their times, the city selected and the page language. We use your existing consent receipt to group visits in a fixed 30-day window. We do not copy your other form answers, name or contact details into these statistics. Only the owner can see the report. Records older than 90 days are removed on the next measurement or report read. Withdrawing permission removes your browser’s form-progress records. Older permission for ads or flyers alone does not enable this measurement.
